APPLIED MUSIC COMPOSITION Pre-requisite: Audition by music faculty. Co-requisites: Music theory, appropriate ensemble, performance seminar, and keyboard class (excluding piano majors). Private applied lessons for music majors in music composition. Concurrent enrollment is required in music theory, appropriate ensemble, performance seminar, and keyboard class (excluding piano majors). Multiple credit course. May be repeated for credit up to a maximum of four credits, but grade forgiveness cannot be applied. (Special Fee: $120.00).

COMPOSITION AND SONGWRITING Prerequisite: Mut 1121 or MUT 1011 or departmental approval. A study of the basic elements of music composition and songwriting through analysis and student projects. Composition II is a continuation of the study of these elements. Multiple credit course. May be repeated for credit for a maximum of four credits, but grade forgiveness cannot be applied. (Special Fee: $156.00).
