DEVELOPMENTAL READING II Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in REA 0007C; or appropriate score on PERT or other approved assessment. The emphasis of this course is on the literal comprehension and critical thinking skills. REA 0017 credit does not apply toward any associate degree.

DEVELOPMENTAL READING MODULE I Prerequisite: Score of 84-103 on PERT and department approval. This course provides specialized instruction in developmental reading concepts to prepare students for ENC 1101. Topics include comprehension skills with an emphasis on inferential and literal skills, organizational patterns of information, and vocabulary development. Upon completion of the PERT diagnostic or a Reading division diagnostic, students will be assigned independent study modules. Students must complete each module and pass the final exam with a grade of 70% or higher. This course does not apply toward requirements in general education or toward any associate degree.

COLLEGE READING Prerequisite: Score of 106 on reading component of PERT or equivalent score on other state-approved entry test. Reinforcement of comprehension skills and vocabulary development. Emphasis on developing strategies for learning and remembering new words.

SELECTED TOPICS IN READING Seminar for students interested in research, discussion, and observation of special topics in reading. Multiple credit course. May be repeated for credit, but grade forgiveness cannot be applied.

REA 2941. INTERNSHIP EXPLORATION IN READING .

INTERNSHIP EXPLORATION IN READING Prerequisites: Satisfactory completion of all mandated courses in Reading, Mathematics, English, and English for Academic Purposes; a minimum 2.0 institutional or overall GPA; and 12 credits, including ENC 1101 or ENC 1101H or IDH 1110 or REA 1105. The Program Director/Program Chair/Program Coordinator or Internship Placement Office has the discretion to provide override approval as it relates to the waiver of required program/discipline-related courses. This course is a planned work-based experience that provides students with supervised career exploration activities and/ or practical experiences. Each earned credit of internship requires a minimum of 80 clock hours of work. Multiple credit course. May be repeated for credit, but grade forgiveness cannot be applied. (Internship Fee: $10.00) .
