INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRO-OPTICAL DEVICES Prerequisite: ETS 1210C and EET 1025C or EET 1036C An introduction to the principles of opto-electronics design to those with a background in general electronics design, circuit theory, electronic devices, and digital techniques. Students will become familiar with radiometric and photometric theory, basic optics, and opto-electronic devices and methods. Devices covered are opto-electronic sources, detectors, lasers, and laser diodes, optocouplers, and fiber optics devices. This course includes several laboratory experiences. (Special Fee: $61.00)
