Covers organization and operation of architect's, engineer's, or contractor's office and includes study of office practices, codes, standards, specifications, and legal documents related to the construction industry.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATING (FORMERLY BCT 2600)
Prerequisite: MTB 2321C, MAP 2302, MAC 1114 or higher-level math; BCN 1272 or TAR 1120C or department approval.
Basic steps of estimating from review of drawings and specifications to development of final estimate, including overhead and profit factors. Prepares students to make some estimates commonly used in construction industry. (Special Fee: $36.00).

ALTERNATE & RENEWABLE ENERGY (GERMANY & SWITZERLAND)
A cross-discipline trip with business students, travel into the heart of Europe to study built environment technology of sustainability, with an emphasis on alternative energy and the push to reduce the global carbon footprint. Planned itinerary includes the Waldspiral apartments in Darmstadt, Strasbourg to visit with European Union officials, solar park in Oberhausen-Rheinhausen, technical museum in Speyer, solar info center in Freiburg, Grimsel hydro-electric plant, and cultural stops in Basel and Lucerne.
