A HISTORY OF GENOCIDE The primary focus of the course is to define genocide in all of its forms, expose the flaws in current pedagogy and reappraise in order to address the complexities of the topic. It will address bureaucratic mechanized genocide as well as the more spontaneous and pre-industrial.

WORLD HISTORY TO 1500 Survey of the evolution of civilizations from ancient times to the modern era (1500 AD/CE) with emphasis on political, social, cultural, and economic development as they evolved in the various areas. Examines the ancient world and ancient civilizations, classical antiquity, the early nation-states in the various areas around the globe, world religions emergence and development, developments through the first millennium common era, the European Renaissance, intersection and connection between global regions including the early age of Exploration, and other topics that explore the interactions among various civilization regions.

WORLD HISTORY SINCE 1500 A survey of the transformation of civilizations from 1500 to the present day. This includes the increasing interconnection of world regions through significant historical periods such as the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, and modern revolutions. It explores the rise of modern nations, the impact of industrialization, and the interactions among different regions, including the effects of global conflicts such as world wars and the Cold War.
