ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL WESTERN CIVILIZATION Survey of ancient, medieval and early modern western civilization with emphasis on political, social and economic development. Examines the ancient world, classical antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation and the age of religious wars, the origins of the modern state, and other topics.
