TEACHING SCIENCE IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C RED 3042 and passing scores on all four subtests of the Florida Teacher Certification General Knowledge Test; or department approval. This course provides Florida Educator Accomplished Practices-aligned knowledge and skills for prospective teachers and teachers in Elementary Education K-6 science. It focuses on the body of knowledge for the nature of science, physical sciences, Earth and space sciences, life sciences, and computer science. This course addresses elementary education pedagogical content knowledge for teaching the Florida Standards for Science and the Elementary Education K-6 Florida Teacher Certification Examination competencies in science.
