In accordance with State Board of Education Rule 6A‑10.030, commonly known as the Gordon Rule, students must complete—with grades of C or better—the following requirements:
- Twelve (12) credits in designated courses that require students to demonstrate college‑level writing skills through multiple assignments; and
- Six (6) credits of mathematics coursework at college algebra or higher, which can include applied logic, statistics, and other such computation coursework
Gordon Rule requirements must be completed prior to:
- Earning an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree, and
- Admission to the upper-level coursework of a Florida public university.
Students who have not earned an A.A. degree must satisfy all Gordon Rule requirements before being admitted to a bachelor’s degree program.
