2026-27 Catalog

Advising Center

All degree-seeking students—including those pursuing an Associate in Arts (A.A.), Associate in Science (A.S.), bachelor's degree, technical certificate, or Dual Enrollment—are assigned a Student Success Coach from the moment they apply through graduation. This catalog outlines the course requirements for students' educational goals, and Student Success Coaches can help students review and discuss their academic plans.

Student Success Coaches are available in the Advising Center and in other locations across campus. A coach is students' primary contact for program exploration, course selection, academic planning, learning strategies, and preparation for transfer to a university, Valencia's bachelor's programs, or the workforce. Students can find the name and email address of their assigned Student Success Coach in the Student Profile widget in MyVC. They may also use the resources available in the Advising Tools section of MyVC to support their academic planning.

Students who are planning to earn a bachelor's degree are encouraged to learn about the bachelor's programs offered at Valencia College as part of their exploration. Those who plan to transfer to a four-year university should meet with their Student Success Coach early to discuss their transfer pathway and prepare for a smooth transition. The sooner this conversation begins, the better the coach can assist students in selecting the right courses and staying on track.
